Full Steam Ahead

It is holiday season in the Dragonfly Room and as the children return from holidays at home and abroad they have been sharing all the exciting things they have experienced.  Talking about the ways the children have travelled to their holiday destinations the staff saw an opportunity to extend the learning and so set off to visit the railway station in Bedale.  They were surprised how interested the children were in the signal box, the sounds and the smells.

Returning to nursery the children began to plan their own train trip on the Wensleydale Railway. They used the computer to look up the time of the trains and to type a list of things they would need to remember, in particular how to stay safe and what they would like to eat when they get there!  Beth and Michelle have written a letter to the parents telling them about our plans and asking if they would like to join us on 23rd July.  We will share all the excitement of our train trip with you soon.
