Keeping Cool
Posted on June 04, 2015
Despite our beautiful building having such thick cobbled walls the building can get quite warm in summer, so to make the children as comfortable as we can we have installed air conditioning. This has been placed in the Ladybirds, Bumble Bees and kitchen area initially though we plan to extend this if needed into the Dragonfly Room in the near future; the system will cool things down in hot weather and boost the heating in colder winter weeks. If the weather forecasters are accurate about the imminent heatwave we will be testing this sooner rather than later.
The nursery has now now joined the Eco-Schools project which supports our ethos of trying to reduce our energy consumption and maximise what we do use, to get this off to a great start we have invited The Rangers children to come along this half term and explain to the nursery children what they know about the scheme as Bedale Primary School already has a silver award. Members of the nursery staff team will be joining the children to form our own Eco-School committee.
