It was lovely to welcome Pippa back into Incy Wincy's today to help us get National Storytelling Week off to a fabulous beginning.

So often we think of stories as just being about books, today showed us how it can be so much more, even our youngest members told a tale or two.  Using clay a 2 year old soon had soon modelled a family of monsters and told Pippa his story, while upstairs in the Dragonfly Room the children created story strings using beads and pipecleaners.  It was our Bumble Bees who were as usual the most inquisitive, gathering around as Pippa unpacked her vast array of props and materials.   In all rooms there was mark making and happy chatter as ideas were shared and characters discussed.

As our Storytelling Week continues all the rooms will be building on today's activities and keen to share the developing stories with our families, we will be displaying the children's work around the nursery.
