Food, Glorious Food

Signs of Spring are slowly appearing around Incy Wincy's, in the gardens and the park.  At the same time Steve is preparing our Yummy Spring menu which he will be introducing from Monday 29th February.  For your information Steve has listed on the menus the seasonal ingredients he is using through Spring.  

Linking in with the new menu we will also be introducing a new take home meals service for families from the beginning of March.  Realising how busy many of our working parents are, and how often we hear them say they would be happy to eat as well as their children do, we discussed the idea of a take home meals service with our Forum members.  The idea is simple Steve will prepare additional meals which parents may pre-order and collect at the end of the nursery day, the cost of a meal will then be added onto your child's next monthly invoice.  The food comes with simple instructions to cook it through (perhaps while the children are being bathed or a story read). We would like to say a big thank you to the parents who been trialing this for us, the feedback has been fantastic! 

A leaflet is being printed with more information about this,  if you are interested please ask a member of staff for a copy.

Looking ahead Steve is working with Jess and Ellie to plan the planting in our Kitchen Garden so we will grow vegetables to be used in our summer and autumn dishes too.  Finally, to bring all this hard work together we have asked for the School Food Trust to assess us for our Food Excellence Award and we look forward to sharing news about this with you in the near future.
