Learning with our Ladybirds

Posted on August 04, 2016

It was a team effort in the Ladybird Room last night as the staff welcomed families for Parent's Evening.  A short presentation was given around Schema; a repeated patterns of behaviour demonstrated by children through their language, actions and play.  Schemas help young children make sense of the world and help staff plan to meet their interests.  Danielle, Vicky & Amanda gave an overview of some common Schemas observed amongst our dynamic two year olds; enveloping, trajectory, rotation to name a few.  Parents were then invited to play with the activities set up in the room while trying to guess the Schemas that these could support.  Finally, there was time to talk to their child's Key Person about their individual development and to look through their Memory Books.  As usual a big thank you to our staff for sharing their knowledge and being so generous with their time.

Our next Parent's Evening which will be hosted by our Dragonfly Team on 5th October.
