Mixing Up Mud
Posted on July 03, 2016
The rain poured down on Wednesday making it the perfect day for mixing up mud for our International Mud Day, Muddy Masterclass!
Throughout the day children from all our playrooms came and went in the mud kitchen, for the younger ones they enjoy the time to mix, pour and squish the mud between their fingers. While the older children took their imaginative play outside. Ready in wellies and waterproofs it didn't take long for the Dragonfly children to decide today was a day for making Fairy Soup and tea. We didn't have a recipe for this but the children soon discovered everything they needed in the garden and now we know that fairies like mint, thyme, lavender, lemon balm and rose petals! Another group chose to create muddy masterpieces mixing mud and powder paint they used sticks, stones and pine cones to make patterns on the paper.
The muddy wellies, waterproofs and a mud splattered face or two showed how much fun we had - and of course the joy of mud is it washes off!
