The Zoomers

A world of wonderful creatures is being created in the Dragonfly Room as the children have taken on the role of Zoomers.  A Zoomer for those of you new to this idea is a Zoo Keeper and Farmer rolled into one and they take care of some of the most unusual animals you may ever have seen!

The idea was sparked from a new childrens book called The Zoomers' Handbook by Ana de Moraes.  Over the coming days and weeks we will be introducing a range of new resources to our Zoomers Musuem and Animal Mixing Centre, please take the time to have a look and talk to your child about these artefacts.  It would be lovely if the children could bring a photograph of any pets they have at home, if you don't own a pet then a picture from a magazine, perhaps a postcard or patterned fabric would all help our thinking.

Designing our animals gives us more than creative opportunities it also offers lots of scope to play around with letters and sounds, as we create new names for the wonderful creatures the children are thinking of. This in turn links in with our new Self Registration Station on the landing, which your child's Key person will be talking to you about this week.  It has been a busy start to the New year upstairs in our Dragonfly Room with no sign of things slowing down soon.
