Seeing Rainbows
Posted on March 15, 2017
Life has taken a scientific turn in the Dragonfly Room over the past few days as everyone gets involved in British Science Week. There was a slightly premature start at Incy Wincy's when rather than wait for the launch this week we blasted off with our first activity on Friday afternoon; with a little help from Aidan and rounding off their interest in Space the children used the Park as their launch pad sending their rocket high up into the sky.
Today's experiment was a little more focused but just as exciting, before we explain fully we just want to reassure families that absolutely no sweets were consumed during this activity and all our healthy eating policies were upheld!
There was alot of concentration as the children carefully sequenced and grouped the sweets before adding water to see what would happen... an excited voice soon said "the rainbow's coming out". Then turning them over to see that the sweets had turned white another child announced "somebody's eaten it".
It was a day full of colour for our Babies & Toddlers too; making the most of the toastie underfloor heating in the Studio they enjoyed a body painting session. The staff certainly looked more colourful at the end of this with purple, orange and green splodges on their uniform - the sign of a good day all round.
